yeh it must just sit there and its presence is supposed to cool smoke? we call that a dry bong, just get a plastic bottle and burn a hole in it and put a cone peice or socket into the hole, pak it up and smoke... without the water. and in new zealand we always try clear the bottle, so with different types of skunk it can be rough on the old throat.
another one is cut a slit in the bottle and fill the bottle with ice then just tape up the slit and smoke. the smoke goes thru the chamber full of ice and is soo smooth.

here we call that a steam roller. you cover one end, put ur mouth around the other end, and the bowls in the middle on top, fill it up, remove ur hand, and there you go, suck in!

yeah if the bottom is cut off then its a steamroller, cardboard tubes like a pringles tub work well too but i like watery filterage

its a quick invention, not a favorite but i used a steamroller once, very nice paraphernalia. we once left the pringles in and ate them afterwards, not nice. tastes like burnt grass chips... exactly what they are. how amusing
